Smart Home Products Gain Popularity Driven by Policy and Tech Integration

Beijing, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) — Smart home goods have become the core of home consumption in 2026, boosted by supportive policies and advanced tech integration, according to market surveys and industry reports. The global smart home market is shifting from "concept competition" to practical innovation, focusing on solving real-life pain points for users.
China’s new policies on equipment renewal and trade-in have activated domestic demand, with subsidies for smart home products reducing consumers’ purchase costs. Brands like TCL and Hisense have launched innovative products, such as lightweight large-screen TVs that fit mainstream residential elevators, while Huawei’s HarmonyOS smart home system enables seamless connection of various devices with simple voice commands.

IDC predicts that China’s smart home device shipments will exceed 300 million units in 2026, with smart security and lighting products leading the growth, as young consumers increasingly prioritize convenience and quality of life.
